The Old Farm of Amfreville, Sainte-Mère-Église

If you are looking for a unique stay near the Normandy D Day sites I can’t recommend our stay at The Old Farm of Amfreville enough. The location puts you right outside of Sainte-Mère-Église which is great if you want to discover the paratrooper side of D’Day as well as the beach landings. It was fabulous. David and Alyson have three rooms decorated in a very classic country french style. We found the accommodations very comfortable. We slept wonderfully. David is a retired Royal Navy chef and he does offer evening meals on occasion. We were lucky enough to have two over our three night stay. They were the best meals we had in France and an incredible value. No TVs in the rooms but the wifi is strong and we didn’t miss having a tv at all. Who has time for that?! I would suggest a car for your stay here. They opened early 2020 and really have a special place. If you are planning a visit to this area make sure to check them out.

My pleasure Kim! We stayed in April but kept thinking about what a hidden gem it really was. It reminded me of exactly the type of places found in Rick’s books so I wanted to pass it along. It was a great find!
