Thank you Rick!

I have just returned from Europe after spending 5 weeks travelling with my wife and two children (ages 11 & 13). We stayed in Munich, Bolzano, Venice, Montreux, Avignon, Barcelona, Paris, Dublin, and Glenbeigh. We had an amazing trip, and benefited tremendously from Rick's advice. We enjoyed using some of Rick's back doors, but also enjoyed seeking some of our own. Rick's general travel advice and specific destination advice was invaluable. I would never have had the confidence to book everything on my own without Rick's advice. I would add that using Airbnb was perfect for us. Staying in apartments allowed us to experience life like a local.

Thank you,
Dankeschon,
Grazie Mille,
Muchos Gracias,
Merci,
and finally……as the Irish say - Tanks

Doylem,

congrats on your trip.

I feel the same way about RS books. I used his and some others on my first trip to Europe. It made my life and trip easier.

i still do a lot of homework to find other places to see and do things just so i can make an educated list of what i want to do/see and try not to miss something. But if i do, i will try to see it the next time.

happy trails.

I don't think Rick reads this forum... but I'm glad you and your family had a great trip! Do you think you'll go back again in the near future? Most of us here are addicted... for me, there's nothing more fun than being on vacation in Europe.

I don't think we will do a grand tour like this again. We would think of a trip where we do 2-3 countries. Prague is high on the list, along with Portugal.
