I know that RS focuses on Europe...... but I just returned from a great trip to Southeast Asia. Since I don't speak any of the language, read the signage, or know my way around Southeast Asia, I opted for a package tour. I went with Gate 1 a budget tour company I had traveled with before. It was a great 16 day trip (2 nights in Bangkok, 2 nights in Siem Reap Cambodia, and the remaining days spent 2 nights each in various places in South, middle and Northern Viet Nam. I found I had plenty of time to see the things I wanted to see, and didn't feel rushed. (climbing the temples, riding an elephant, wandering the cities, taking my own side tours in some of the cities.) The local guides in each country were excellent and the hotels were all 4 stars.
It was nice to stay in a plush hotel after walking and hiking all day in lots of heat and humidity. The restaurant referrals were all top notch and, I really enjoyed the whole trip.
Thanks for the posting. I've been to SE Asia before and plan on doing a cruise like yours in the future. I realize it is a RS Europe sight but wish they could create a place for non-European trips since many of us travel the world, not just Europe. The comeback might be to check out other sites, and I have and still do, but none compare to this sight for quality, organization and helpfulness.
