Spent 2 nights in St Goar. Unfortunately Rheinfels castle was closed that day so I took the KD cruise down to Bacharach. Fabulous scenery and relaxing ride, to me doing this short cruise in the “slow” direction was perfect because it was a fairly short journey, hour or so. Spent the day walking the streets of Bacharach, what an absolutely charming little town. Then took cruise back to St Goar. While Bacharach was a more interesting town to visit I liked my choice of St Goar to stay in, 5 minute walk from train station to hotel and KD dock outside my hotel front door, which felt pretty central to that area
