Day 4 Bus 26 again, to the Museum of Copenhagen, which covers the history from ancient times to the present and has a fascinating video of the commune of Christiania and the movement similar to the hippies in the US. Across the street, the Glyptotek- seriously gorgeous, with an interior palm courtyard, nice cafe, and art from the Egypt, Europe, the Mid East - excellent commentary and an interesting film on Gaughin (there is a room with his paintings) with people from Samoa. Dinner at Restaurant Frank - sea bream with grapefruit - unusual and delicious - and chocolate sorbet with white chocolate and caramel cream. .
Day 5 A day out of town - train to the Louisiana Museum which I loved. Beautiful day to walk in the sculpture garden and enjoy the modern art, with a free guided tour. Delicious cafe with white and green asparagus soup and a caramel cake.
Day 6 I love to cook (and, obviously, eat) so a pastry class was a must. The CPH (Copenhagen) Cooking Class, a short walk from the hotel, was fun and delicious. We baked several types of pastries and could then take them home - I took mine back to the hotel, where the reception staff were happy to sample them. Then, I walked and walked to say goodbye to Copenhagen and had a final dinner at the Shrimp, on Sankt Annae Plads (St Annes Place), inside the hotel Sankt Annae. Lovely place, gracious service, delicious. Ready to head to Stockholm.
Final thoughts
April - a great time to visit - yes, it’s chilly but there are few tourists and rarely lines.
Weather - chilly in early April, 40s and low 50s - perfect for walking but you do need a warm jacket.
Walking - CPH is fairly flat and very walkable. Sidewalks are in very good condition and, where there are cobbles, they are flat and not difficult.
Copenhagen Card - I purchased the card on line and activated it when I arrived at my first site and used it extensively, for the museums and the public transportation. TIP — I took a picture (with my phone) of the QR code and filed it with the photos so I could use it without having wifi (I did not have roaming wifi since it was free at the hotel and most museums), e.g., on the bus Having the photo on my phone was a huge help for transportation, museums, etc. and I went to several places I might not have otherwise, since they were covered by the card.
