Spain, Toledo - Private Local Tour Guide - Adolfo Ferrero

In October of 2025, we traveled to Spain. I planned our trip using Rick's 19th Edition of his Spain book. Per Rick's advice, we did a day trip to Toledo (once the capital of Spain) from Madrid using the high speed train (I used the Renfe website to get the train tickets with seat reservations, about a month before our trip). Again, from Rick's book, I found the local tour guide, Adolfo Ferrero. I made reservations with Adolfo many months prior to our trip. Adolfo met us at the train station and had already secured a taxi (which we knew ahead of time that we were to pay with our credit card). We stopped to see the Mirador del Valle which is a spectacular view of Toledo set high upon a rock plateau surrounded on 3 sides by the Tajo River. Adolfo directed the taxi to take us to the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes where Isabel and Ferdinand had originally intended to be buried. Adolfo then took us to the Synagogue of Santa Maria Blanca (a conversion of a synagogue to church). We walked through the Jewish Quarter, then we visited the Cathedral of Toledo, and concluded our tour at Plaza Zocodover (the main plaza). After we finished lunch, we took a taxi back to the train station. Adolfo has written a book on Toledo. He is extremely knowledgeable about his home town of Toledo. We spent about 3-3.5 hours with him and we were so happy that we did. He brought the city to life and made our day trip to Toledo very efficient and complete. Adolfo does an excellent job at showcasing his amazing city!

We knew ahead of time his fee and we also knew that we would pay all of the entrance fees separately.
He can be reached by email: [email protected]
