Hi... was looking at a post about snakes here and no one had seen one but today we saw one on our hike between manarola and corniglia... very cool. Not a great shot but think you can see him!
I can't see him!
(Hint: might help if you actually posted the picture.)
Considering we can't post pictures here on RS Forum, we can imagine him as being a huge, nasty pit viper spitting venom and chasing you off the trail. Thank goodness you weren't severely bitten! LOL
Obviously a snake of the reptilius invisibilus genus. Rarely seen.
Oops, alright, very funny, so i can't post a pic... he was beautiful, sleek and black and about 4' long, wiseacres....
Probably a distraction for pickpockets.
Hopefully once word gets out it will scare away the crowds everyone complains about but then the forum will start getting questions like
"I understand that there are snakes in Cinque Terrre is it safe to visit?"
Please post the photo on all the cruise ship sites to discourage the hordes from swamping this delightful area
Invisible snakes are the best kind for me.
@jayhamps no I want to know it's there(if venomous) so I can avoid it. If it's not venonmous, "snake, have a nice day"
Some snakes are indigenous to the region, some are not. You can tell the visiting ones because they usually have money belts.
I just Googled "snakes Italy" and "snakes Tuscany." Gosh, and to think several years ago I hiked up and around all sorts of rocks and the such between the villages of the Cinque Terre. Ignorance was bliss. I never thought about snakes there, but makes sense. If I were to go back, I would be looking more closely before putting my feet down on and between the rocks.

If they are wearing them properly, you should not be able to see them. It the white sport shoes that give them away
