Slovakia- thermal pools, mountain and caves

I had a wonderful time in Slovakia. I would never think that this modest country is so beautiful and have so much to offer.
Firstly, it would be a sin no to enter natural, healing thermal waters in Slovakia. So we did. We choose Thermal Park Oravice and Thermal Park Vrbov. It's really amazing to be swimming in the water and watch around to admire majestic mountains which surround you. And my skin was really soft after the batch!

Secondly, the caves more or less on your way. We have seen Zla Diera, Belianska cave and Cave of Liberty. For me being underground, watching places which nature was creating for hundreds of years, walking in darkness with a flashlight... Pure magic!

We also visited beautiful dam Liptovska Mara. The pictures are awesome. Rafting in wooden rafts is one of the greatest tourist attractions of northern Slovakia. This popular lake is also used for surfing, sailing, and boating. Our Slovakian friend recommended it to us and it was a great choice. Lovely, relaxing day.

It was not typical sightseeing trip. The only city we decided to discover was Preszow. We bought Slovak Ancestry & Heritage tour and we saw all the most important places in this medieval city with very kind guide Michal. We were focused rather on the North Of the country, because it was only our 5 days off from Poland.

The prices in Slovakia are really affordable. Food, tickets, apartments... We really wanted to see how the life looks like and booked a wooden huts and apartments in smaller towns. It was around 8-12 euros per person/ one night. Clean, comfortable places with a beautiful view. For me it's much more worth than another fancy hotel. And you meet locals :)
I regret that this country is not a popular destination.
My friends told me ,,what are going to do there?'', ,,there is nothing to see''. It's such an ignorance! We were relaxed and really happy. I recommend to everyone who loves nature.

I agree that Slovakia is certainly underrated. Why? Hard to say. My educated guess - lack of information. Slovakia could easily be popular destination. But I don't regret that it is not. That would bring crowds and prices would go up. Nevertheless it will happen one day. If you want to enjoy it like Melisa or myself don't procrastinate and go now before it becomes a popular destination.
