RS France guidebook

We've used literally hundreds of guidebooks over 30 years as we travel several times a year and often to Europe. We've used the Steve Smith book three times and it is extraordinary, particularly for driving tours. This is hands down the best guidebook ever written for any country by anyone. The insights are amazing. The driving suggestions are extraordinary. It is subjective and that's exactly what make it so good and I've agreed with almost everything. Although we are not economy travelers we find that the book saves quite a bit of money as we can stay in terrific places that are great values. I think the only thing I would have liked was a review of Aix, our favorite city in Provence but not theirs and not covered, but this is a small thing and again I love the fact that the book points you to his view of the best of France. We just returned from another two-week driving tour (Paris, Brittany, Dordongne, Carcassone, Loire, Provence etc.) and we couldn't never have had anything like the kind of first class trip we had without the book.

I shall pass on your message to Steve Smith. Aix, Cassis, and a few other destinations are covered only in the separate Provence and French Riviera book.

Thanks. should have realized that the Provence book had more detail and excuse the typos in the message above. Still jet-lagged.
