Rome trip comments

Spent 5 days in Rome last week, then 4 days in CH visiting family. In Rome, we stayed at the Best Western on Villafranca. Which is about 5 blocks east of Termini.Very modern,up to date.nice clean rooms with plenty of hot water to shower with Excellent.
breakfast. We skipped dinner every day and didn't eat again till supper Very quiet room[406] had window open every night.
For $60.00 a night. Great price.
We visited most of the obvious sights. Walked most of it.We're an old couple.I'm 59 she is 60.If we can do it,most people can.
Visited 4 piazzas with heavy security at all of them.Like wise at the Vatican.
Did the skip the line admission for the Colessum and Sistine Chapel.Saved a lot of time.Used the side door at the Sistine to get to the church with no problem.Got seats at the Sistine just as we got there.Spent an hour there.Wonderful.
Ate at 5 different reastaurants, all within 2 blocks of the hotel. All great meals, costing us 31 to 37 Euros. That is combined, not separately.
Saw no gangs of kids hustling tourists,or seen or heard of any pickpocket incidents Rode the metro and buses a few times.Just be alert, and you'll be fine.

Max,

Which part of "CH" were you visiting? I'm assuming you're referring to Switzerland?

Hey Max, sounds like you had a great time, economical too! But what's this "old couple of 59 and 60" stuff all about? Does that mean you've been a couple a long, long time? You can't be referring to your ages, as we all know that 59 and 60 are the new 39 and 40. Maybe you just made a typo and meant to say "odd couple".

Larry (above) is not quite accurate. 59 and 60 are more likely the new 58 and 59. However, if you keep yourself in shape, you'll have many good years of traveling ahead of you. We're 77 and 79 and headed for Europe, again, in April. We've done so every year since retirement. We have started to make a few concessions to those numbers, like looking for accommodations that have elevators or not more than one flight of stairs; however, we're basically still good to go.
