On our drive last week on the road between Monemvasia and Leonidio, the road was very good and then the pavement ended and became rough rock bed . We thought we had gotten on the wrong road, which is very easy to do, so we drove back to the last village. After searching for someone who spoke English, and failing, we were able to communicate to a young woman on a scooter that we wanted to go to Leonidio. Sure enough, we had been on the right road. As we approached the end of the pavement, we met a bicyclist that said the road was passable if we were carefull, and it was rocks for about 2 kms, though steep and winding. There were no signs at all, and I wonder how many people turned around as we did. Typical of our experience driving on the Peloponnesus and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
