My wife and I recently stayed at Badgers Wood in Keswick. As we were unfamiliar with the area and had no car, we hired Anna Gray https://discoverlakeland.uk) for a couple of days to share her passion of the area. I would definitely recommend both Badgers Wood and Ms. Gray to anyone who wishes to explore the Lake District. Both of these were recommendations from Rick Steves. It made all the difference. We made excellent use of our time, and felt like we were staying and being taken care by close, family friends.
