Return Trip to Paris Itinerary

We've been to Paris a few times, so I put together an Itinerary for 1 1/2 weeks without the top sites. Hope this helps someone with their return trip! :) I've rated how much we enjoyed each item in parenthesis from 1-10, with 10 being the best.

Day 1: Hotel Waldorf Tracadero for 1 night (7). Stayed here with our RS Tour several years ago. Isn't as nice as it was then, but quiet and great breakfast. Landed around 11:00, checked-in, walked to Arc de Triumph, toured Musee Jacquemart-Andre (download app ahead of time) -- late lunch here (8) and Parc Monceau (7).
Day 2: Morning walk to view the Eiffel Tower. Moved to Hotel du Jeu de Paume on Ile St. Louis -- our favorite (9). Eating Europe Tour: In the Steps of a Chef (7), Musee Clunny (8), and dinner on Ile St Louis - Cafe Med (8).
Day 3: Morning walk through the Tuileries (8), RS La Madeline to L’Opera Walk (3) , Gallery Lafayette - lunch on the rooftop - amazing views (10), Opera Garnier Multi-Media Tour (10), afternoon tea at Hotel Bristol (7), O Chateau Champagne Tasting on the Seine (7), light dinner at a brasserie on Ile St. Louis.
Day 4: Day trip to Chateau Chantilly (8) tips: download app, book horse show ahead of time (Thursdays), lunch in the garden (9), return to Paris and dinner cruise on Le Calife (10!), midnight walk along the Seine back to hotel (10).
Day 5: Found out the day before that our Eating Europe food tour with Chef PJ wasn't with Chef PJ! Very disappointing, so canceled and did the RS tour of Montmartre (in the RS Paris book) on our own (8) -- climbed the steps to Sacre Coeur, stopped along the way at the Musee Dali (7), Musee Montmartre (8) and lunch in the garden (8), saw lots of artist sites... In the evening, explored Ile St. Louis and had a picnic by the Seine (9). Met relatives in the 13th and had a late dinner at Les Cailloux (6).
Day 6: Spent the day with relatives in the 13th -- walked to market on Rue Mouffetard (8) (liked better than Rue Cler), Luxembourg Gardens (9), Montparnasse (7), and back to Rue Mouffetard for lunch. Cab to Musee Marmottan (7). Wine tasting dinner at O Chateau (10!) -- a highlight. The head sommelier from Cordon Bleu gave the presentation.
Day 7: Our hotel was unavailable for the next few days, so we had to switch to Hotel Lutece on Ile St Louis. Not as nice and much smaller, but quiet and good breakfast (7). Walked to St. Sulpice for mass and organ recital (6), lunch across the street at Cafe de la Marie (7). Met relatives in the Marais for tea at Marriage Freres (7). Long walk to the 13th and special dinner with relatives at La Coupole (8).
Day 8: Morning walk along St. Martin Canal (6), lunch in the Marais at The Sancerre (7), then walked to Caves Bosseti for a taste of special Chartreuse and purchase (10) - a little hole in the wall place that was recommended by the O Chateau sommelier. Shopped at Palais de Thes for some great tea to bring home (8). Dinner in the Marais and then dessert sitting along the Seine.
Day 9: Followed the RS Marais walking tour -- in RS Paris book (8). Stopped at the Musee Carnavelet (7), lunch in the garden (8), Musee Picasso (8), and Marche des Enfants Rouge (8). Did one last cruise on the Seine with Vedettes Du Post Neuf in the evening and sat at the front of the boat (9). Dinner at Cafe Med again (8).

Day 10: Took the Eurostar to London (9). Will post about London next!

Tip: Cabs have use of special lanes so can get around quicker than Ubers.

Thank you. The number ratings are helpful. We were in Paris many times when we stationed in Germany. Going next year prior to a RS western France tour. Will definitely visit some of these places based on your recommendation.

Hi Peg, I really liked your details and especially the ratings to go with them. I agreed with several, so that helps me gauge the ones I haven’t seen. Thank you!

Enjoyed the report. One of my favorite things to do, I do it during my last night, is to walk along the Seine. I usually begin across from the Eiffel Tower and follow the Seine all the way back to Notre Dame, criss crossing the bridges.
