Private Guide in Dubrovnik, Croatia

We just returned from Croatia. While in Dubrovnik we were put in touch with a private guide, Vesna Barisic. She was extremely nice, helpful, and knowledgeable regarding Dubrovnik and Croatia as a whole. Furthermore, she is available for tours for the surrounding areas. We hired her for a day for a tour into Kotor, Montenegro. She was delightful, reasonably priced, and I could not recommend her more highly.

She can be reached via Email: vbarisic.dubrovnik@gmail.com and typically responds very promptly.

P.S. She lived in Dubrovnik during the siege of Dubrovnik by the Yugoslav army during the Balkans war and has fascinating stories to tell on that as well.

Thanks for the referral. I'm just in the process of planning 4 days in Dubrovnik for this October. Any other hints or suggestions ?

If you have a car, a daytrip into Montenegro and/or Bosnia (Mostar) is worth your time.
As I said in the post, I cannot recommend Vesna Barisic highly enough. She has a good 2 hour walking tour of Old Dubrovnik but is also available for tours in and around the area.

If I remember correctly it was ~$150 for a 2 hour walking tour of the old city. However, like most things in Croatia the cost will vary with the time of year. I would contact her directly to get a price quote.

Kevin, thank you for your recommendation! We hired Vesna for a tour in May and thought she was terrific! We did the basic Old Town Tour, but she included a lot of Game of Thrones information for our college kids who were with us (which they loved). We also were amazed by her stories of life in Dubrovnik during the war in 1991. Her English was excellent and she was so interesting to listen to - just a great tour!
