My wife and I took a Holland America Mediterannean cruise in September and wanted a tour guide for Pompeii and Herculaneum. After doing a bit of online research, we chose Enzo Caporaso who had good reviews. We booked a four-hour tour with Enzo. He and his driver Tony picked us up at the Naples port as soon as we disembarked from our ship and drove us first to Herculaneum in a comfortable Mercedes van. For the first hour we practically had the place to ourselves. After an 1 1/2 hour tour there, we drove us to Pompeii for a two-hour tour. Enzo is a wonderful tour guide, very knowledgable about the two sites and their history, but still personable enough to make the tours very enjoyable.
