We will be in Rome and want to visit Pompeii and I am wondering if weekends are more crowded or not really.
Any help would be appreciated!

You may want to ask this in the official Italy travel forum instead of this "Trip Reports" section which is usually people talking about their past trips.
I forget the day in June when we went to Pompeii, but the train was much more crowded than Pompeii :-) There were crowds gathered at the entrance with tour guides swarming around attempting to round up people for their groups. It was very warm so a good hat or umbrella would be beneficial in the summer as well as a water bottle and comfortable walking shoes.
