We will have a driver taking us around a for 2 of the days to the wineries and we have a car. One day we wantv to visit downtown Paso Robles. Should we spend 2 days at each or just one for the 4 nights?

Are you asking about Paso Robles in CA? This is an European travel site and you are posting in the Trip Report section. Please post your question under Destination Q & A -- Beyond Europe. You might get some answers there. Not a lot of orientation to US travel.

First, you should be posting in the Beyond Europe as Frank mentions.
Second, Paso is a very small town with lots of wineries. Stay in one spot.
Great wine region. Enjoy!

If it’s your first time there may I suggest that you go to Hearst Castle and walk around Morro Bay! Lots of otters hang out by Morro Rock and they’re so fun to see. San Luis Obispo is a bigger town next to Paso and probably has a more interesting downtown area and a California mission. So much stuff to do around there.

There are actually two missions just north of Paso Robles. Mission San Miguel Arcángel is right off 101, and Mission San Antonio de Padua is within the boundaries' of Ft Hunter Liggett. San Antonio is one of my favorites because it doesn't get a lot of visitors (the public is allowed access through the fort, you just have to log in).
