Rick recommended Thierry Gauduchon for tours in Paris, and I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed it. My husband and I spent a delightful morning with Thierry walking around the Left Bank, the Latin Quarter, and the Marais. Not only did we learn a lot about the city, but also we were able to enjoy picking up on the “flavor” of this wonderful city. Thierry is a charming, knowledgeable teacher, and it was a privilege to get to have that time learning from him.
I was just reading about Thierry last night! How long was the walking tour? Did you tell him what you wanted to see or did he have a planned itinerary?
He met us at our hotel at about 9 AM and we finished about 1230. Because Rick Steeves had mentioned his neighborhood tours, I just let Thierry figure out what we should see and we kept busy that entire time. We did it in a comfortable, casual manner with general conversation about the neighborhoods and Paris in general. He is a delightful companion. He helped us navigate the metro system for some additional things we wanted to see. All in all, I couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant morning. We didn’t go into any sites, but we covered a lot of territory. I recommend him highly and once again was pleased that Rick directed me to such a good connection.
I love using local guide. Will need to keep this name for Paris.
Good to know!
