Paris, Munich, Prague, Rome, and Positano in 19 days - Part VJuly 16:

July 16:
Took ferry to Capri, got on a boat right away (I had tickets) to take us to blue grotto. We waited an hour to get into the small row boat. Three people get in back, one in the front and you lay down as flat as you can and the row boat guy pulls the row boat through a tiny opening into the grotto/cave. It's a beautiful blue color because of the white sand on the bottom and the sun coming through the hole. Some of the drivers sing and you tip them after. The amazing thing that happened to us was the boat driver was telling us that he lives nearby and him and his kids come down and swim at night. My husband said he would love that! Well our boat driver must have told our row boat drive because the row boat guy asked my husband if he'd like to go for a swim. He said "hell, yes!" and went on over in the water! He swam around awhile and got back in! It was the highlight of his trip and he tipped the driver 20 euros. At the suggestion of the boat driver we had the row boat guy drop us off outside the grotto by the steps (I guess you can take a bus or taxi to the top of these steps and wait in a long, long line to get into one of the row boats to go into the grotto.) Anyway, we went up the stairs and caught the next crowded bus and went up the windy road to Anacapri. There we walked around Villa San Michele. Beautiful gardens and statues and ended up eating at there nice café overlooking the valley. We shared a large antipasto and it was to die for! Then we took a really crowded bus back to Marina and took ferry back to Positano. That night we went to the restaurant along the path around the corner from our hotel on the water. Food, service, and venue were great. Too bad I can't remember the name of it!

July 17:
Our last day of our trip and last day in Positano. We had planned on taking a ferry to Amalfi and a bus up to the beginning of the "Path of the Gods" and we were going to walk it. But, it was just too hot and we were too pooped. We sat by the pool again and ate there at the little restaurant at the pool. It was breezy so they weren't able to put up the umbrellas. That night we went to Chez Black again and of course gelato after! We packed our bags and got ready for our flights home the next day.

July 18:
A sad day. The hotel arranged for a driver to drive us to Naples. We met him and our bags at the garage. We had a nice peaceful drive to the airport, flew to Munich where we had a short layover and then our flight to San Francisco.

Had a wonderful adventure! Hope to go back to other parts of Europe some day.

Things I wish I had brought...a sweatshirt and a small travel umbrella.
Things I took and didn't need... a plastic cutting board, a swiss army knife, second pair of sandals, and a bike lock (for luggage on the train).
Things I loved having....iPhone case that hung around my neck, backpack purse, visor, plastic Ziploc bags in every size!
Happy Travels!

Thanks for your report! Would you mind sharing what iPhone case you used that goes around your neck? That sounds like a great way to avoid having to carry it in my hand
or take it out of my bag all the time when I want to take photos with it.

Thanks everyone. Glad you enjoyed it. Two other items I loved having were a multiple USB plug where you only needed one converter and then you could plug in 4 things! The other item was a Marpac Hushh White Noise Sound Machine for Baby. :) I love having a constant noise going and I slept like a baby. Even when there were parties going on outside!
