Palazzo Valentini Rome

This is an underground archeological museum displayed in an intriguing way with glass floors, lights, a narrated voiceover. It’s adjacent to Trojans Column, and there is a connection. Just steps from Victor Emmanuel Monument (the wedding cake). We greatly enjoyed the hour and a half tour, consider it one of the highlights of our trip. Check the schedule for tours in English and either book in advance or get there a bit early-they are punctual and once it starts, no further admission allowed. This was a great tip from Sarah Murdoch (thanks Sarah!) https://www.palazzovalentini.it/domus-romane/index-en.html

I agree. What a fascinating place to visit. That is, once I got used to the rather unsettling feeling of walking on a glass floor above lighted ruins one story below. Highly recommend!
