After landing in Ancona Italy after an 11 hour ferry ride I rented a car and drove to Ostuni. Where I stayed at Caterina’s suites. Great room built into the hillside, lots of character, very comfy bed, local toiletries (yes I took both the soap and body lotion). Ostuni is interesting, driving up and seeing that imposing white hill town filled me with excitement. I have up ash that after exploring a bit I actually got lost and could not find my apartment, but eventually got there. I basically just wandered around town, enjoyed views of the Adriatic Sea and had breakfast courtesy of Caterina Suites. From Ostuni I drove to Cisterno. Beautiful drive thru the countryside among the olive groves. Not a lot was open so just enjoyed walking around the small old town area. Then on to Locotrando. By now I am running late and could not figure out where to Ostuni close to yhr centro storico, but as I was turning around in this place I decided to go inside, thought it was a park. Well it was the cemetery and I ended up wandering around here for too long. It was like hundreds of little churches, the funeral art was amazing. Next stop Alberollo. Spent only an hour here. Kind of reminded me of RTD in Germany, Yes it was interesting to see, but sooo commercial. The line up of vendors selling fake Chinese designer crap was a little much. I would have preferred to stop along the road and explore the Trulli in the old deserted olive groves. Don’t get me wrong, if you are in Pulgia region, you should stop here, but I would not spend more than a couple hours here, if you want to stay in a Trulli find one in the countryside. I loved this area if Italy and by the time I arrived in Matera Italy I had taken more than a few pictures of real estate fliers for my own deserted olive farm
