Okay, James, you are right. Budapest is awesome!

After many months of planning, we arrived yesterday! Budapest is a wonderful surprise! It's got the grandeur of Paris and Vienna with a little bit of gothic detail a la Budapest and then a little funky socialist Zagreb thrown in there. We love it!

It's a great walking city, we're able to navigate easily with our maps and sites are pretty accessible. The crowds are not too bad.

Lodging prices are great - we're in a highly rated two bedroom, two bathroom for about $115 per night.

We also love Budapest. The young and millennials are hipsters, and they love to practice their English. Then you have the older citizens that look like Ruskies with ladies in their long overcoats and scarves over their heads. You won't get a word out of them as they pretty much ignore everything.
We have just found it an easy city to travel through--and very walkable if you supplement it with public transit. The food also agrees with Americans' palate.

It is my most favorite place on earth and I cannot get enough--just spent 6 days there in May and already planning my 5th visit for next May.
