Would love to see more trip reports from the Loire Valley to the south of France Rick Steves tour, especially from those whose groups hit hard by covid. Did the itinerary change? How did the group feel? How well were protocols followed? Did you hear from anyone who had to leave the tour and how they fared?
Hello Jill M., Thanks for this. I agree. Went on the Paris & the Heart of France. From Paris to Bourges, via the Chateau du Guédelon. Next to Amboise sur Loire. Saw Chambord, by which I was appalled - such a display of in-your-face wealth and disregard for anyone else. One tour member, after the visit, said she was thinking of becoming Socialist! Next visited Chenonceau, which I loved and Leonardo da Vinci's Clos Lucé. Stayed at Hotel BelleVue. Good place, good staff, good restaurant and good food. After the group dinner, walked up onto the elevated walkway. Took some stunning photos of the Loire in the sunset. Would gladly live there! Anyone going there, try the local wine specialty, Sancerre, a white wine. The faintest bit of tartness, but I quickly adapted to it!
