My Way Alpine Tour coming up soon…any recent advice to share?

Hello!
I’ve read through so many trip reports and forum posts in preparation for our tour which starts soon. I’m so appreciative of the wealth of info here!

As the 2026 season has begun for this tour, I wondered of anyone had any recent experiences to share?

Thanks,
Laurie

I haven't been on this tour, but it looks like the first 2026 outing for this specific tour is May 25, so you may be on the first or second tour of the season. Next year they start earlier in May. Hopefully someone who took the tour in 2025 can weigh in!

Make sure you have cool clothing for hot weather. Extremely warm in Germany right now.

Hi Laurie,
My family and I went on the MWA tour in both June of '24 and '25 and loved it both times!

Do you have any specific questions ? I gave several little reports so if you look in my history you will see my experiences.
Do you know who your guide is, yet ? We had Laurel both times and she is awesome!!

My husband and I are actually going for a 3rd time on the MWA in September but without our kids this time. We're adding some time in Switzerland before the trip begins in Salzburg. Possibly adding Lake Como post tour.

I'm happy to answer any Qs you may have. It's fabulous!

Prost!

We just got back from our May 11 My Way Alpine tour. It was exceptional. We had varied weather -rain, snow, and cold in the first part of the trip and then it got warmer and warmer. I did not have cool clothes for the end of the trip and I regretted that. My Keen walking tennis shoes were all I needed to get anywhere on the hiking trails. If you are more adventurous, you may need sturdier shoes. I was a low level hiker, but walked 15k to 20k steps daily. If you are going to do the castle tours in Fussen, I suggest you pick one castle and do it. You can hike around the outside of the one you don't choose. It was very very crowded in early May, so I am sure it will be crazy when you go. And hot. Many of our hotels did not have AC, but it was not an issue until we left the tour and hit Annecy and Geneva at 87 degree days. Also, I got pretty sick on the tour. I ended up doing an online Medical appt and easily picked up antibiotics at a local pharmacy. Disappointing, but it did not ruin my trip overall. Be prepared for a beauty overload. The scenery was breathtaking -even out of the bus windows. I can't wait to go again!
