My first tour- made it to Chartres!

I am happy to say that I made to France for my Loire to the South of France tour which starts later this afternoon. We (I am traveling with my mom) flew from Seattle to Iceland and then on to Paris CDG, all on Iceland Air. I will say they were a bit picky about bag sizes—mine fit in fine in the bag sizer and was under 10 kg so I was able to carry it on. Their personal item allowance is quite small but my small backpack was allowed. We had no issues with delays and our 1:25 layover in Iceland was more than sufficient.

When we arrived in Chartres yesterday, it was 99 degrees. Quite the shock for sun starved Seattlites! We had a nice dinner outside and tried to keep our eyes open until 9pm. Off to go meet our fellow tour members now, but will post a full recap after the end of the tour. Cheers!

Awesome! I'm doing this tour in late September. Could you DM the hotel list to me? I have a feeling it will probably be the same and I'm very curious. No rush obviously.

Have a blast and be safe!

Linda- Julie was so wonderful! That eastern France tour looks amazing.

Jill- the tour just concluded and didn’t have anyone get covid. There were 26 of us.

I will post a full tour report when I’m home and I can type on my computer rather than my phone.

I'm anxiously waiting for your tour report. It'll be good to compare notes of your actual tour with my plans for tour free time.
