Money Belt and Airport Security

When going through airport security, should I plan to remove my money belt or can I wear it through from start to finish? If I am unable to wear it through, should I place it in my backpack before going through security?
Thank you.

You will have to take it off. I put it in my bag before going to security nor do I need people knowing I have it.

A quick trip to the men's room to remove it and anything else in my pockets. No one is the wiser.

After security, another stop in the loo to put it all back.

Definitely take off the money belt. I forgot one time and was asked by TSA to remove it.

Yes, put it in another bag that you have so it’s not out in the open.

I stop at the restroom before going through security and remove my money belt then and place it inside one of my carry on bags. I like to put the money belt back on as soon as I get through security. I wear mine on the plane so I don’t have to worry about it.

Put it in your carryon for screening, along with other things you carry on your person (phone, etc).

I have TSA PreCheck and I take everything off that could possibly set off an alarm, including my money belt, which contains credit cards in RFID sleeves.

Just throw everything into the top of one of your bags that's going on the belt. It will make your life so much easier!

Yes - off. My "oops" was at Heathrow. Sigh. I was berated and "shamed". I thought that rather unnecessary for a simple moment of forgetfulness by a regular traveler through LHR. I had been out and about in central London before going to the airport.

I keep my money belt in my purse when not on me. That's the first item I grab off the belt following screening. Carry-on is second for grabbing.

We've done this for many years and it's works for us. Others do differently and that's ok -- to each his own.

Before you get to the airport (probably when you leave home or your hotel) place the money belt in a LOCKED compartment of your carry on (and it's best to tie or clip it in) and keep it in your possession at all times. At the security check point let it go down the conveyer belt as usual. Then, after you clear the TSA security area, find the nearest rest room and put it back on. That way if your carry on has to be gate checked (and it sometimes happens regardless of size) you still have your money belt on you. Easy-peasy peace of mind. Lord forbid your carry on is gate checked and then lost with the money belt inside.

While going to and through the airport, have everything in the belt except day money, one credit card, maybe (or maybe not) one ATM card, and travel documents you will need in route such as your boarding pass & passport. Carry those in a secure zippered shirt / blouse pocket if you have one. If not, use your purse / "man bag" / personal bag. When going through the TSA check point you can put those things, plus cell phone, watch, and misc. in a zip lock baggie in your purse / "man bag" / personal bag. Remember, your money belt will be TEMPORARILY in your carry on so your goodies will be in two different places.

Going through TSA, I take off the pants belt, the neck pouch, and the hidden pocket. I am assuming "they" will tell me remove them anyway.

Learned the hard way to take off my money belt going through security, my mistake. I was asked if I wanted to go to a room nearby for privacy as security was already heavily patting me down in front of my family. Not fun. Mom of a party of four of us, but I do understand the need for security - even with our domestic flight out of a small airport. Definitely will remove money belt, money necklace, etc. in any future flights, hide it in your carryon prior to going through the line.
