Took the greatest tour ever Yesterday 11/30 thanks to all of you in the forum. Mario from MONDO tours met us at Pompeii with a Rick Steve's sign and took us on a 2 hour tour of Pompeii. He is an archeologist as well as a guide and was able to give us much history and context to what we were seeking which was much more complete than what we would have been able to put together on our own. We had mentioned to him that we were interested in the Naples museum and he suggested that after the Pompeii tour we drive into Naples (as we had a car) and we could take the three hour walking tour which included the museum. We said yes and it was worth it. We even took a couple with us in the car who were with us on the tour in Pompeii. He is very passionate about his city and the history of his region. For 40 euro each we had a guide for six hours who even got us in and out of the city with ease. Driving in Naples by the way is something I would not recommend for the faint at heart. If you do take a car in park by the harbor near the castle as the rates are the most reasonable. Thanks again to Mondo Tours, what a great day.

Thanks for the review. We tried to take the Mondo tour of Pompeii last year, but not enough people showed up at the meeting place (which was hard to find; we almost missed it ourselves.) But the guide, Vicenzo (?) gave the three of us who showed up about a 45 minute orientation, free! If we're ever in the area again, we'll try Mondo.
