I love and collect early 80's Giorgio Armani so I went to the museum to do some research on the computer terminals there and ran into an exhibit of all the dresses he designed for the stars in the entertainment business from 2005-2015. Other than that I toured the inside and roof of the Duomo for the first time. Also since it was raining all over Lombardy today, I went to Ravenna where it was sunny and toured the mosaics there.
Here is everything in pictures:

Never mind the dresses, that shirt / jacket you're wearing in the pictures is a vintage beauty. Pieces like that must attract some attention from those in the know on the street in Italy.
Starry eyes at all those dresses. Wow. And yes you’re looking quite dapper!
Isn't that great that you thought to go to Ravenna! How was it? Crowded? I don't know how I've missed it when I've been to the Veneto region just north so often. Loved your pictures!
Great photos! Lovely dresses and mosaics. Camera or cell phone pics? Was the train ride scenic?
Oh my goodness, those mosaics….. So incredible. Thanks for posting.
That train ride is not scenic. The only ones I ever find scenic are in Switzerland and near the sea or the lakes of Italy. Camera type does not matter more than the skill of the person taking and choosing what will catch attention. This is still low season no crowds. Ravenna I saw as more niche, art historian type tourists real quiet. There were just school field trip crowds.

I just bought that jacket from Armani Spring Summer 1981 collection from a seller in Italy. Most of his market for vintage Armani late 70's early 80's is USA and U.K, not really Italians because his prices are so high but his collection is mint condition.
Early 1980's Armani sportswear was a status symbol in high school during the early years of the Chicago House Music Scene. I couldn't afford it back then.

Wow 1981? That's really early. I remember people on TV wearing Armani suits in the early 80's, but the casual wear wasn't on my radar until late 80's or early 90's. I was just talking in another thread yesterday about wearing one nice piece with basics. Working out good for you.
That's interesting the seller is exporting. I thought there would be a good market in Italy too. I have dipped a toe into vintage Stone Island content online (I own a mid-90's jacket) and it's big in the UK. There's a lot of guys my age here with big money to spend on the vintage Stone Island of their youth these days.

I walk and eat just green except on vacations like this when you are walking and standing even more than usual burning energy.
That's only way a person of a certain age can continue to fit 1980's Armani.
I was wondering how much nice vintage stuff would make it into the thrift stores and markets of Milan. A Google search turned up a few links, but this blog post may be worth reading for anyone interested in clothes -

Oh my word, absolutely beautiful! You, the photos, the dresses, the mosaics. Chapeau!
Great fun post. Made my day!
Thank you!
