My husband and another couple booked a walking tour in Madrid with Stephen Drake-Jones, Chairman of the Wellington Society, based on a recommendation from my R.S. Spain guidebook.
We thoroughly enjoyed our May afternoon with Stephen, a gregarious ex-Pat from Great Britain who has lived the last 40 years or so in Spain. We did the Hemingway, Wine and Tapas tour. We learned about Hemingway's time in Spain, bullfighting and more, while enjoying fine Spanish wines and delicious tapas. We joined another couple from California and I believe all six of us had a great time. If I were to return to Spain (which is my intention in the next year or two) I would book a tour with Stephen again. We found him knowledgeable and extremely entertaining. We had a very limited amount of time in Madrid and felt it was well-spent in his company.
