If I were to tell you about Calabria, I’d say it’s one of the most beautiful places in Italy! For a trip that’s easy on the wallet, I’d recommend staying in Tropea—it’s got some of the best beaches, and you won’t break the bank on accommodation. If you’re after something a bit quieter, Scilla is perfect. It’s charming and peaceful, plus it has those lovely beach vibes. But, if you’re after more of a city experience by the sea, then Reggio Calabria is the spot to be.
For fishing, you can hire a local guide to show you the best spots along the coast. Oh, and don’t miss out on trying the ‘nduja—it’s a Calabrian specialty, super spicy and perfect with pasta, especially the one with anchovies!
Hotels like Hotel Rocca della Sena in Tropea and B&B Scilla e Cariddi in Scilla are right by the beach, offering you a perfect mix of comfort and affordability. Book your flights early to get the best deals, and maybe rent a car so you can easily explore all the hidden gems. Have an amazing time exploring Calabria!
