We just spent 5 nights in Kenmare and were very happy to use it as a base. We were able to easily and comfortably explore the Beara Peninsula, south part of the Ring of Kerry and Skellig Ring, Killarney National Park, and the Gap of Dunloe. We even had one 'town' day where we were able to do laundry, wander into shops and have a lovely lunch, and explore the stone circle. Nice to have a down day. We stayed at the lovely Rockcrest House B+B, about a five minute walk into town.
