During Sept.-Oct. I spent 3 weeks in Greece. My favourite place was Kardamili on the Mani peninsula. Kardamili is a quaint little village and is a little less touristy. Kardamili is recommended in Rick Steve’s Greece book and at the book’s suggestion we opted to stay at Antonio’s Apartments. Antonio’s Apartments are centrally located to walking trails, the beach, cafe for coffee and crepes and many restaurants (Kastros was very reasonable and good). Our host, Elias, has a wealth of knowledge of Greek geography and history, specifically the Mani peninsula. The weather was nice and warm as was the ocean. An easy drive from Athens airport.
