Itinerary for France, 2016!

We traveled in May and this itinerary worked well. From Atlanta we flew to/from Lyon and picked up a Hertz rental car at the airport in Lyon and dropped off at the rail station in Montpellier. With a few modifications, we'd do it again!

Dijon--4 nights--Hotel des Ducs (Great hotel, parking available for extra fee, perfect location.)

Annecy--3 nights--Hotel Alexandra (Good location, small room, no lift, we'd opt for a different hotel.)

Orange--2 nights--Hotel le Glacier (Great location in city center--we'd visit Orange for a day trip rather than overnight.)

Maussane les Alpilles--7 nights--VRBO 1207977a (Great base for Provence--very nice rental.)

Montpellier--4 nights--Hotel Eurociel Best Western (Good hotel, great location near rail station.)

Lyon--5 nights--Hotel des Celestins (Nice hotel, great staff, perfect location, we love Lyon!)

Spill the beans - do tell us what you did on your trip! Would love to read about it.

Btw, we have a travel group meeting coming up Sat June 25 at 10 am if you care to join us.

@ Chani! Thanks!

@ Judy,

We're leisurely travelers. We visited markets, museums, ate well, and enjoyed the local wine in each city. Highlights for us were the chocolate croissants for breakfast, Transhumance Festival in Saint Remy, the Carrieres de Lumieres near Les Baux, the Textile Museum in Lyon, the Roman Theater in Orange, day trip to Marseille, and hiking around the lake in Annecy.

Thank you for the invitation to the meeting in Atlanta. I probably will not make this one. I'll watch the schedule for future meetings.
