The last part of our trip was flying to Rome from Paris. We were there for 4 days and toured the Vatican, walked to the Pantheon, walked to Trevi too. The next day we did the Colosseum and the Forum. Rick's book had a great tip to get into the Colosseum. He said to bypass the ticket line (which was long) and go to the counter labeled "guide visite". We went to the "short line" and bought tickets very quickly and was able to get into and English tour. Great tip. The people in Italy were so friendly. We stayed at Hotel Aberdeen, close to the Termini station. The metro was easy to use and the food was excellent. We then took the train to Florence and stayed in a little B&B Soggiorno Baptisero, per Rick's book. We overlooked the Duomo and the Baptistery. It was a bit noisy but it was in a great location. You can walk everywhere, so no need for a metro for our time there. Our last leg was a train to Milan. We flew to Europe with our frequent flyer miles, so we had to fly out of Milan. We saw the Duomo there and had tickets for the "Last Supper". The trip was awesome and Rick's books, other travel friends and the Travelers Helpline helped with all my planning. Thank you so much! We hope to plan a trip again soon!
