My first trip report here :)
Istanbul the capital of two empires and the only city in the world built on 2 continents. Istanbul has been home for Byzantium and Ottoman Empire. It's the largest city in Middle East, and the 6th in the world with area covering 5,900 kilo meter square. So My short trip report will only cover the minuscule part of It, yet it's the most popular destination for the 1st timer.
My trip started from Eminonu seaport, the continued toward Taksim Square ( City Center on the European Side).
then walk along famous Istiklal Avenue where St. Antonio Church and Galata tower , where in between historic tram is still being used . Please see the below link for detail of the trip:

In SultanAhmet, I went to gullhane park (hunting places for the Sultan) and Sultanahmet park with its lovely fountain. then the Hippodrome , the ancient greek horse and chariot racing place.
From there I visited SultanAhmet Mosque ( famously known as Blue Mosque), and Hagia Sophia( Museum that has been used both as Church and Mosque).
and the Basilica Cistern, the underground water reservoir that well preserved till now, in there you can see glowing large water fishes and the Medusa's Head.
thanks and please leave comment if you like this trip report :)
