Just got back from an amazing trip to Ireland. Just a couple of glitches with getting to see sights that weren't mentioned in the Ireland book
Kilmainham Gaol- You can now reserve an appointment online in advance and they recommend doing so. When we showed up- the weekend was completely sold out and we couldn't get in :( The museum staff recommends making appointment a couple days in advance, more for weekends and holidays. http://kilmainhamgaolmuseum.ie
Micheal Skellig trips are very popular now(since Star Wars shot there more fans wanting to see) and boat trips need to be booked weeks or even months in advance. Although, often a few people don't show up and so you can show up the day of the trip and the various boat operators will try to get you on if possible. It helps to call and ask them ahead.
