I noticed on al old forum questions about the Australian company Inspiring Vacations. We just used them and I want to report back. They were offering a 12 day tour of Japan for half price--$2000 ("Authentic Japan"). I found it on TravelZoo. We took the plunge and signed up. We were very happy with the company. We arranged our own airfare but booked our transfers through them with a third party. At first I thought they did not offer enough site seeing, but now (being 70+ years) we appreciated the down time to either rest or visit other sites not included. They did hit the major sites we were interested in visiting. We visited the Gion District and the Nijo-jo on our own using taxis. The hotels were top notch. Our only complaint was that the "Western" breakfasts were unappealing on the whole, but we found enough to eat to get ourselves going in the morning. The tour director was friendly and efficient but not terribly knowledgeable in her commentary. The bus driver was helpful and competent. Everything ran smoothly and really enjoyed Japan and her people. I would not hesitate to use this company again.
I did the 7 day Japan tour with Inspiring vacations last April. I felt I had good value for the money paid. It wasn’t a premium experience but I didn’t pay premium prices either. Hotels were good and logistics well planned. I noticed our bus was at the same tourist locations as many of the higher priced tours.
How many people were in each of your groups?
35 people from the US and Australia.
Thanks, Brenda!
I don’t remember the exact number for our group , but it was over 30. Really wasn’t a big problem.
