Hotel Muget in the 7th eme

3/29/14
Bonjour, mis amis! My husband and our 17 year old daughter and I just returned home from seven days in Paris. I cannot say enough WONDERFUL things about Hotel Muget and their incredible staff. They were unrelentingly helpful in answering questions, giving directions, calling taxis and tour service contacts and making dinner recommendations and reservations for us. And I was SO jazzed that one night one of the attendants on duty at the front desk recognized my interest in history and let me join him in watching a Canal+fr new documentary on WWI. I will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and fellow travelers (repaying the tip from my sister who stayed there last fall) and would ABSOLUTELY stay there again!

No car but yes petit dejuener for a small extra fee (11.5 eu daily, I think-if you only want coffee, only 2 eu).

I have to agree! We stayed at Hotel Muget between Christmas and New Years last year and we would go back every time in Paris. This was high season and the prices were very middle of the road for Paris. The hotel was comfortable and well done and the staff was wonderful. Yes there is a cost for breakfast, and I think this is very common in Paris. I could not find any hotel with a free breakfast in Paris. But the breakfast was very good. Fresh baked goods every morning from the bakery down the street. Hope the secret doesn't get out!

What does breakfast include? I hope for the equivalent of +$15.00 it's more than coffee and a croissant!

Breakfast includes cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, on the spot freshly sqeezed OJ, cheeses, cold cuts, breads and a toaster, butters, jams, Nutella, hard and soft boiled eggs and omlettes to order. Of course it also includes delish croissant (the chocolate ones are DIVINE!), Madelines and WONDERFUL coffee plus an assortment of tea.

That sounds like a nice selection and worth the price.

Yes, I felt the breakfast was worth the price. And the reception staff is always willing to make coffee for 2eu. There is a water bottle vending machine in the dining area with Evian, Perrier and such and is a nice convenience and I think fairly priced. I can well appreciate why there is no eating in the rooms though at first it seemed a tad offputting. One night when we were there, on of the groups also at the hotel had a fun looking gathering in the breakfast area! The front desk staff were VERY accomodating with a corkscrew and opened our wine for us and provided drinking glasses!

Have stayed there three times over the years. Love the locale and the comfort. A bit pricey but hey, I budget accordingly. When I first stayed there years ago (97') it was because I'd heard many of the Michelin personnel did as well. That was a vote of confidence in my book. Will admit I've NEVER had breakfast there. Too much to see and do so out the door early to explore Paris. My only word of caution is for those who don't pack lightly or are claustrophobic. Unless they've remodeled since my last stay (2011), the elevator is the size of a pea pod.

We stayed there in May 2013 and we were also impressed. The staff is very accomodating. We had French butter that we were bring back to the US and they allowed us to store it in their frig. The rooms are clean, comfortable. We had a great view of the Eiffel Tower from our room. It tends to be expensive, but not more than similar hotels in Paris of like quality. We did not have the breakfast. I can not bring my self to pay that much for breakfast when I can run out and get a croissant and some pastries for much less. The only downside is that there really are no great boulangeries nearby. Eric Kayser, Poilane, and Boulangerie Secco are bit of a walk. However, the extra exercise just means you can have sometime else in addition to the croissant. We have also stayed at their sister hotel, L'Empereur, down the street, and found it just as good. Can not go wrong with either one.

"Hope the secret doesn't get out!"

It's been in the RS guide for years...
