Besides great views over Helsinki, there is some history in this small rooftop bar.
Order a drink with Canadian whiskey. According to the bartender, Seagram's Canadian will always be on offer at the bar.
At the end of World War II Canadians were stationed in Helsinki as the USSR tried to expand the territory they claimed. Canadian support was appreciated by the Finns. Also appreciated was a pallet of Seagram's Canadian that the Canadians sent back after they returned home. You can see the miniature canon pointed toward the base, and if you are an artillery veteran (of any country) you are welcome to sign the guest book behind the bar. This was a surprise to me and I'm glad I ordered "Canadian and ginger." It led to an interesting conversation about a complicated war time and Finnish military service today.
