Just back from 5 weeks in France. Felt completely safe the whole trip. Almost 100% masking, and you can’t even buy a beer in Paris without your pass sanitaire. Forget trying to get it before you go. Ask at your hotel when you arrive about which pharmacy nearby is issuing passes. Take your CDC vax card and passport, spend 5 minutes filling out a simple form and you get back a paper pass that is easy to upload to your phone. Seriously easy. We are techno idiots. It’s free, although the pharmacist will accept tips, good for life and can be used in any EU country. Made traveling so easy.

Pharmacies have been told not to do this. You may find some who will do it for a few Euros under the table.

You may have erroneous info. There was nothing “under the table” (it’s free, tip voluntary), it was the official paperwork from the state and not a fake pass like some if the CDC cards here. Our passes worked everywhere. There is enough enforcement in France that almost no business risks not checking passes, much less trafficking under the table ones.

I never said the pass wasn't real. I was pointing out that the French government has asked pharmacies to stop issuing passes to non-Europeans.
If you found one who did you're lucky. There are many responses on other threads where people tried what you did and were turned away.
