I had no response at all from Samurai Tours to my query about booking a tour - apart from an automated message saying that my query had been received.
We ended up booking with Inside Japan who were very responsive and tailored a self guided tour for us. We were quite impressed by the level of detail provided and suggestions based on our preferred type of travel/interests. We haven’t been yet, booked for later this year.
No, but I was researching them for a trip next year. A few other posters recommended InsideJapan. They booked trips through this Inside Japan. I’m going to really get into this trip after we return from Norway mid-June and make a decision. Will most likely use InsideJapan.
PS, just saw the above response after I posted. I guess that helps me with my decision.
Like Ethel, we reached out to Samurai tours and the person said it would be several weeks before he would have time to work on an independent itinerary with me, so we moved on to Inside Japan and they were very responsive. We have an itinerary hammered out for fall of 2025.
My husband and I just returned from 3 1/2 weeks in Japan with Samurai Tours. You can see reviews by travelers under each individual tour. We booked the Best of Japan and takes a few days on the front end and a week on the back end. The tour and guides are excellent. We traveled using public transport and it was seamless. The accommodations in ryokans, onsens and a Buddhist temple were excellent. We highly recommend Samurai Tours.
I traveled to Japan with Samurai Tours last year and had an amazing experience. It's a shame to hear about their lack of response, but my experience with them was very positive. They provided detailed itineraries and the guide was knowledgeable about both popular spots and hidden gems. The tour was well-organized, and I got to learn a lot about the samurai culture, which deepened my passion for it.
This passion led me to start looking for authentic katana swords as souvenirs. I found a great website with katana sword for sale that offers worldwide delivery. I've already bought two and they are stunning pieces, perfect for any enthusiast. If you're interested in samurai history, finding a high-quality katana is a great way to bring a piece of Japan home.
