Just wanted to give a shout out to the Hammersmith area of London for anyone looking for a good location not too far from center. We booked an Airbnb (private room, not a whole apartment) there...she was just a 5 min walk from the Hammersmith tube with 4 different lines at your disposal. Easy to get to central London or about 35-40 min to Heathrow. Lots of restaurants and shopping...the Hammersmith tube station has lots of shops (and a Krispy Kreme...lol).
Four stops from South Kensington and the museums. Six stops from Victoria Stn. The other direction we were 5 stops from Kew Gardens. Getting where were wanted to go was so easy.
