If you are stopping in Breisach on a river cruise and want to escape the crowded tour buses, you need to book a full-day private e-bike guided tour. We spent an absolute dream of a day with Sid from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and it was hands down the highlight of our vacation.
Sid guided us on a seamless, 30-mile e-bike loop that crossed two countries but felt incredibly easy and relaxed, with zero stressful hills. We started with Breisach's history, then crossed into France to ride through stunning nature islands along the Rhine. We hiked up to 12th-century castle ruins with views over the Alsace, explored a 4th-century Roman fort, and rode through a lush Rhine forest that felt like a tropical jungle.
The food and culture stops were perfect. We had a fantastic traditional lunch in the historic, picturesque village of Burkheim, followed by a stop at a lovely café for excellent coffee and "Grandma’s recipe" homemade German cake! We topped off the afternoon riding through beautiful vineyards with two local wine tasting stops 😊
Sid handles everything, speaks flawless English, and uses top-tier, comfortable e-bikes. He got us back to the ship with plenty of time to spare. I cannot recommend this full-day e-bike tour highly enough!
