Just returned from 12 days in Egypt in a small group( turned out to just be 3 my husband, myself and a gentleman from New Zealand). Logistics were perfect from the greeting in the arrival hall before we went through immigration, to the hotel(Marriot in Cairo), to the flights within Egypt to Luxor, Abu Symbol and, the Nile cruise and back to Cairo. We had 2 wonderful guides that not only gave us amazing information about the tombs, temples, pyramids and museums, but also insight into the culture and their way of life in Egypt. There was a nice mix of history but also visits to a "farm", a felucca. ride(sailboat), a high tea at the hotel Agatha Christie wrote Death on the Nile. We also had a walking tour of a Bazaar in Luxor. We felt perfectly safe throughout our holiday.
The temp was 113 degrees one day and averaged 103, but we were up early to avoid the heat and other tourists at the sights. The weather was hotter than expected- they said this was like July- so going in April or October might be better, but we would highly recommend Insight Vacations.
