France in Five Weeks: Sept-Oct 2012 Things We Loved #1 post

Just returned from almost 5 weeks in France. Six nights Paris then rental car and circle around France. Here are some of what we loved, most from R.S. book. Rental car gemut.com (AutoEurope)Used them 3 times and always good experience. Lovely town to walk in and have lunch at Il Parasole. Delicious. Enjoyed our stay at Logis les Remparts in small B&B in Bayeux. Arromanches good place to begin D-Day Beaches. We made it to American Cemetery for the 2pm English tour. Wonderful guide and most memorable day of our time in France. Rainy and sunny during the tour set the scene this unforgettable tour. One afternoon on Mont St. Michel and one night stay at Les Vieilles Digues B&B. We could relax on our patio in the back garden. Lovely courtyard at the Hotel de Biencourt in Azay-le-Rideau with the first Chateau a short walk away. Three nights perfect to see three Chateaus: Villandry, Chenonceau and Azay-le-Rideau. *4 nights at Hotel la Belle Etoile looking out the window up and down the Dordogne River, and canoeing all day along the river from this village-perfect. Reserve ahead for the caves if you can, as this is a "must-see".
