Matt, love your great brief recap... but most of all I love your Food of the day... I'm copying this for my journals from now on. I try to write a bit in journals, but never seem to get past a few days. If I didn't take pictures all our days would run together. We were in France at the same time as you, but did a completely different path...

Fabulous! Something for everyone. You need to do a trip report podcast with Annie and Elise on Join Us In France.

Matt,
I'm curious- how did you choose your itinerary? I noticed Collioure, a place that Henri Matisse painted. I know he lived for a while in the South of France.

Sounds like a fun vacation for your children, too.

tgreen - this is the entirety of my journal! I have to keep it brief or else nothing gets written!

Bets - already scheduled and looking forward to it

Judy B - I planned our earlier 2015 trip without much input from the kids. When that trip was over, I was able to get their informed input to build into this itinerary. They basically had 2 requests: (1) a week on the Mediterranean and (2) a swimming option at all or most places we go to. I built around that to put together a trip that made sense and fit our budget. I've always wanted to go to Brittany and loved it. I wanted to string together pre-history with modern history by seeing both the Celtic sites and the cave paintings in the southwest. For the Med., Collioure popped as the town that fit our travel style the best. I've stayed in both Vernazza (loved it) and Nice (hated it) so I was looking to get close to that Vernazza, small town feel. I used the RS guide, this forum, the Join Us in France podcasts, and the RS podcasts to fill in the details.

Thanks, Matt

Food of the day is great. Got to try it. Think I will make the men in my life (hubby and grandson) also pick. It should be interesting to see if they agree.
