We recently returned from a trip to the Adriatic. We started in Dubrovnik, Croatia and ended in Lubjiana, Slovenia. If anyone is on the fence about seeing this part of the world, I very highly recommend going for it. While in Split, we booked a private tour with guide Nives Bojic. We found her online through a third party website (only after the fact did we realize that she's actually mentioned in the RS travel guide). I've had many good local guides in Europe, but Nives stands out as one of the best. She was excellent! She really brought Split to life for us. Her perspective as a local was invaluable. She met us at our hotel and took us on a leisurely walk to Dioceltian's Palace, sharing local insight and perspectives on modern-day Croatian life along the way. Her expertise as a guide was evident as she made the Palace interesting and manageable for us. Afterwords, she even had a drink with us and answered our questions we had about Croatia (of course, the drink was optional!). If Split is on your itinerary, I recommend booking with Nives! Her contact is [email protected].
