European Beaches with kids - seekig recmmenations

I am considering visiting either Italy, France, England or Greece with my wife and 2 kids (ages 3 and 7) for a beach vacation. I am thinking of:

Italy - Almafi, Capri, Cinque Terre, Sicily, Sardinia, Tremiti
Greece - Naxos
France - La Rochelle, Orleon, Ile de Ré, and Sables d'Olonne.
England - ???

I want something that will be good for the kids, regardless of the weather.

Can anyone make some suggestions to these destinations or possibly suggest others I have not considered?

We are thinking July or August.

Thanks so much

Paul

This is in the Trip Reports area which is where you write reports about where you have already been.

You might be well served to post this question in General Europe. It might be seen there by more people.

Today, I'm feeling more inclined toward Greece as being more relaxing and cheaper for daily expenses, and possibly also warmer than some. I can picture your renting a car in some areas, but not Amalfi or Cinque Terre. I have not yet had the pleasure to visit Sardinia or that part of the French coast.

Of the places mentioned, I have only been to Cinque Terre so I cannot speak to all of them, but that beach is much different from any beach I have been to in the States. Of the 5 towns, only Monterosso has a bigger beach area and it is more pebbly and not sandy like the beaches here. The other towns have swimming areas that are rocky, but not really a beach. I loved Cinque Terre, but I would not consider it for a beach vacation like I would expect in Florida. Just something to keep in mind.
