Dublin Daytrip to Newgrange with Mary Gibbon

Loved taking the day trip tour from Dublin to Brú na Bóinne on the Newgrange Tour with Mary Gibbons. She was really informative, got a great overview of the Irish History and she’s a good storyteller. The sites were incredible and she made the directions clear and easy to follow for us. Highly recommend! https://www.newgrangetours.com/

Agree, it was an excellent day. Over the hourlong drive to the valley she gave a capsule account of Irish prehistory and history. She must do it every day but you wouldn't have guessed it. The tour was an easy and informative way to see the Boyne Valley, Hill of Tara, and ancient tombs that would be worth seeing with or without it.

I’m planning on this tour for next year based on the many positive reviews I have read here on the forum. How far in advance did you book the tour?

Carrie, if it helps, I booked at the beginning of November 2023 for a mid-June 2024 date. At that time, the weekend dates were already full but I was able to book for a Friday. So I am sure time of year and day of week matters.

I contacted Mary in November 2023 asking to reserve a tour one day out of an entire week in early May 2024. She had only one day available which I quickly reserved. She sent a Paypal billing in January.

Agree! About six months out is a good call. The tour can take about 24 people a day so it does fill up quickly!
