My wife and I had an incredible experience with Daniel from Terra d’Alma touring the Douro Valley. We are not big fans of port wine and did not want to get on the Viator/GYG Bus that gives you a cookie cutter experience of Port wine, boat tour, lunch.
Daniel was able to construct a personalized day visiting a couple of wineries focusing on the dry wines, talking with the owners and the wine makers, going through their cellars and then a private, multi-course lunch at an authentic Portuguese restaurant where he knew the owners and we were treated like royalty.
The day was fabulous and well worth the money we spent. I can’t imagine flying all the way to Portugal and then skimping on a cookie cutter tour.
Daniel is a wonderful guy and makes sure that you are happy and comfortable. I would not hesitate to do this again. His family has been in the valley and surrounding areas for generations.
